Join Junie B. on her first day of first grade, where many changes are in store: Junie's best friend Lucille has found new best friends -— and Junie B. makes friends with Herb, the new kid at school. While in Mr. Scary's class, Junie has trouble reading the blackboard — and she may need glasses. Add in a friendly cafeteria lady, an intense kickball tournament and a "Top-Secret Personal Beeswax Journal," and first grade has never been more exciting.
This is a production-based class. All students who register for Junie B. Jones Jr must be enrolled in at least one Firefly Theatrical class for the Spring 2024 semester (drama/acting, musical theatre, improv, or dance through Integrity 360). Everyone who registers can participate regardless of experience level. We will hold workshops during the first few rehearsals where the students will learn songs and dances and read scenes. From these workshops, we will cast the show with roles appropriate to skill level and experience.
Grades 3rd-8th
Rehearsals: Feb 4, 2025 - April 26, 2025; Saturdays 4-6 pm, Tuesdays 6-8 pm. (No rehearsals Feb 15, 18, April 5, 8, 29, May 2 — In February, the Saturday rehearsals will be 1-3 pm, then in March they will switch to 4-6 pm)
Tech Week: Monday, May 6 - Wednesday May 8, 2025 - 6-8 pm every night
Performances: May 9 (7 pm), May 10 (3 pm and 7 pm)
Cost: $500 (or three monthly payments of $170)
